New York State Siting Board to Meet

Siting Board to Consider Amendments Related to Cassadaga Wind Project

ALBANYThe New York State Board on Electric Generation Siting and the Environment (Siting Board) will meet on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 1 p.m. to consider Cassadaga Wind LLC’s request for an amendment to its Certificate of Environmental Compatibility and Public Need to expand the previously approved tree clearing window for site preparation.

On January 17, 2018, Siting Board approved Cassadaga Wind’s request pursuant to Article 10 of the Public Service Law for a Certificate of Environmental Compatibility and Public Need, with conditions, to develop the Cassadaga Wind Project. The Project consists of, among other things, 48 wind turbines and associated facilities in the Towns of Arkwright, Charlotte and Cherry Creek in Chautauqua County, New York.

Members of the Siting Board will meet in the Public Service Commission’s Board Room, 19th floor, 3 Empire State Plaza, Albany, New York, at 1 p.m., with video-conference connections to the Public Service Commission’s Board Room, 4th floor, 90 Church St., New York, New York. In addition, the meeting will be webcast live on the Internet.

The Siting Board will consider whether to grant Cassadaga Wind’s petition to allow tree clearing outside of the previously-approved tree-clearing window.

The meeting will be webcast to the Department’s New York City offices. The webcasting will be for viewing and listening purposes only. In addition, the meeting will be webcast live on the Internet. The Internet webcast can be viewed by accessing http://www.dps.ny.gov/Webcasts.html

An agenda will be issued prior to this meeting, which will contain additional instructions regarding viewing in the New York City office and the webcast.

Instructions to Attend Meeting in Person

All members of the public are invited to attend in person. Individuals wishing to attend the meeting in Albany, may do so in the Board Room on the 19th floor of the Public Service Commission’s offices at Three Empire State Plaza, Albany.

Individuals in New York City wishing to attend the meeting may do so in the Board Room on the 4th floor of the Public Service Commission’s offices at 90 Church Street, New York City. Pursuant to procedures established by the building management, anyone planning to attend in the New York City Board Room must notify Mr. Jan Goorsky at 212-417-2378, 48 hours in advance of the meeting, and must be prepared to show valid photo identification upon arrival at 90 Church Street.

The Internet webcast can be viewed by accessing http://www.dps.ny.gov/Webcasts.html. If you experience problems viewing the live webcast, you may view it at a later time by accessing an archived copy of the webcast. Archives are available on the Department of Public Service’s Web site within two business days after the meeting.

The application for the proposed Project may be reviewed online at the Siting Board web page (http://www.dps.ny.gov/SitingBoard), by following the link to “Projects Under Review,” on the left side of the page. It also may be accessed by visiting the Department of Public Service website, www.dps.ny.gov, then clicking the “Search” link on the upper center area of the page, then using the “Search by Case Number” feature, to search for Case 14-F-0490. The application materials may be located under the tab “Filed Documents.” The application is also available for review at local public libraries in the project area and upon request to Cassadaga Wind LLC.
