MTA Announces Virtual Board Meeting to Be Held on April 22

One-Day, Virtual Meeting Will Combine Regular Monthly Board Meeting with Committee Meetings

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) today announced that it will hold a one-day, virtual joint monthly meeting of the MTA Board and the Board’s committees on Wednesday, April 22, at 10 a.m.

MTA Chairman Patrick J. Foye will convene a joint meeting of the MTA Board and the Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North Railroad, New York City Transit, MTA Bridges and Tunnels, Finance, Safety, and Capital Program Oversight committees. New Yorkers are encouraged to visit new.mta.info/virtualboardmeeting to view the meeting online.

The public comment period of the monthly board meeting will also be transformed into a virtual comment period to ensure the public has an opportunity to participate, and providing more opportunity for the public to participate than is required by Executive Order. The MTA will collect public comments via video and phone on Monday, April 20. Those who wish to participate will have the opportunity to register on Monday, April 20, between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m., online at new.mta.info/virtualboardmeeting. Registrants will receive an email notice with a link that will allow them to record comments between noon and 5 p.m. on April 20. In keeping with MTA rules, each speaker will have two minutes of airtime. Participants are required to adhere to the MTA’s Code of Conduct. The first 30 minutes of public comment will be delivered at the board meeting and the remainder will be posted online and made available to the Board and public on April 22.

Members of the media can view the meeting online at new.mta.info/virtualboardmeeting. The MTA will hold a Zoom conference with reporters in lieu of the standard MTA press conference following the meeting.
