March 23, 2018, Albany, NY - The New York State Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) announced today that Karen Geduldig, New York State Executive Deputy Chief Information Officer, was recognized as one of StateScoop's Top Women in Technology for 2018.  This year's list recognizes the contributions of a diverse group of innovators and leaders working in cybersecurity, federal IT and state and city government.

Karen was honored for her spirit of innovation, leadership, professional achievements and influence in the government technology industry.  Since appointed as Executive Deputy Chief Information Officer in early 2017, Karen has been driving New York State's innovation agenda through the implementation of technology solutions. In addition to overseeing the innovation agenda for New York State, Karen has spearheaded a client-focused realignment of ITS through more business-focused IT portfolios and a deeper and more transparent investment governance program. These efforts earned her a spot on the list for 2018.

This year's list, released during women's history month, is comprised of leaders implementing solutions and making business decisions to improve how government agencies achieve their missions.  The annual list spotlights the incredible women across the state and the local government community who consistently work to improve government and the way constituents are served.
