Bridgeport Woman Wins $1,000,000 Lottery Scratch-off Prize

Fifty-seven-year-old Lori McGee of Bridgeport has claimed the first top prize of $1,000,000 on the 20X The Bills scratch-off game.

While her husband Tim was pumping gas at the Kwik Fill Store on Route 31 in Cicero, McGee went into the store to purchase Lottery tickets. After bringing them home, McGee scratched her tickets and matched one of her numbers to a winning number to win a $1,000,000 jackpot prize.

“I was in shock,” McGee said, “I looked at it over and over and over. I even got out the magnifying glass.”

McGee will receive her prize in annual installments of $50,000 before withholdings.  She will receive a net check totaling $33,590 annually for 20 years.

McGee said that winning the Lottery feels “great!”

Her plans for the money include “taking care of Tim and Lori,” as well as their children, and giving some away during the holidays.

“It would be fun to walk around town and hand out $50’s to everyone.” The New York Lottery contributed $14,982,000.03 in Lottery Aid to Education to school districts in Madison County during fiscal year 2017-2018.
