American Cup Short Track Speed Skating Comes to Lake Placid February 14-16, 2020

Come Watch the Next Generation of Short Track Olympians

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. --- Catch all of the speed, precision and excitement of short track speed skating when the Lake Placid Olympic Center hosts the American Cup Short Track series finale, Feb. 14-16, 2020.

Speed skaters from Canada, Philippines and the United States are expected to compete in this development racing series event. Racers skate against each other instead of the clock, in 500-meter, 1,000-meter, 1,500-meter, 2,000-meter and 3,000-meter distances.  Many athletes to include Apolo Ohno, JR Celski, Rusty Smith, Kathrine Reutter, Lana Gehring, Alison Baver, have all participated in the American Cup series before claiming Olympic medals.

The high-speed action begins on Friday, Feb. 14, at 1 p.m., with the 1,500-meter quarterfinals, followed by 500-meter racing at 2 p.m. and the 2,000 and 3,000 relay semi-finals at 3:45.

Saturday’s, Feb. 15, slate opens with the 1,500-meter semi-finals at 1 p.m. This event is followed by the 500-meter semi-finals at 2:15 p.m., and the 1,500-meter finals at 3:15 p.m. Saturday wraps up with the 500-meter finals at 3:15 p.m. and the 2,000 and 3,000-meter relay finals at 5:45 p.m.

One-thousand-meter racing highlights Sunday’s, Feb. 16, action. The quarterfinals and semi-finals get underway at 9 a.m., while the finals are slated for noon.

Tickets are on sale now by visiting www.whiteface.com. All event adult tickets are being sold for $25, while senior and junior all event tickets are available for $20. Single day adult tickets can be purchased for $10, while the senior and junior single-day ticket is only $8.
