Plumbers & Steamfitters Recruit Apprentices |

Queensbury, NY (November 29, 2018) - The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for Plumbers & Steamfitters, Local Union #773, will conduct a recruitment from January 14, 2019 through December 9, 2019 for 12-15 plumber and steamfitter apprentices and 12-15 heating, ventilation, and air conditioning mechanic apprentice, the New York State Department of Labor announced today. Please note that the openings listed for apprentices represent the total number for two recruitment regions – the Capital District and North Country regions. This program’s jurisdiction includes the counties of Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Hamilton, Saratoga, Warren, and Washington. Applications can be obtained from Plumbers & Steamfitters Local Union #773 (Contact: Alexis Flewelling), 37 Luzerne Road, Queensbury, NY, or from L.H. LaPlante Co Inc. (Contact: Chris Golden), 52 Main Mill Street, Plattsburgh, NY, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on the second Monday of each month, excluding legal holidays, during the recruitment period. Applications must be completed and returned no later than the Friday (following the second Monday of each month) at noon. Applicants must pay a non-refundable $25.00 application processing fee at the time of application and a $25.00 testing fee on testing day. Please note: You may request that these fees be waived. Fee waivers will be approved upon showing verifiable proof of financial need.

Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner. Under state law, sponsors of programs cannot discriminate against applicants because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, or marital status. Women and minorities are encouraged to submit applications for apprenticeship programs. Sponsors of programs are required to adopt affirmative action plans for the recruitment of women and minorities. |
