WHAT: New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), in collaboration with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. Geological Survey, and Aquarium of Niagara will be stocking Lake Sturgeon in the Genesee River.

The event will include an opportunity to observe sturgeon up close and speak with DEC staff and science and education partners on the historical relevance and the importance of Lake Sturgeon in New York State waters. Interested observers will have the opportunity to release a Lake Sturgeon into the water.  

WHO: DEC Regional Director Paul D’Amato and representatives of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. Geological Survey, and Aquarium of Niagara.
