When: Tuesday June 19, 2018 – 10:00 a.m. What: Hearing on potentially eliminating the tip credit system in New York State. This hearing is for workers in non-hospitality industries only. Another hearing is being held on Wednesday, June 27 for the NYC area hospitality industry. Who: Commissioner of Labor Roberta Reardon and other Department of Labor officials Where: Hostos Community College, 500 Grand Concourse, Bronx Media RSVP: About the Subminimum Wage Hearings On Dec. 17, 2017, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo directed the Commissioner of Labor to hold public hearings to examine industries and evaluate the possibility of ending minimum wage tip credits in New York State. This hearing is the sixth of seven that have been scheduled throughout the State. Testimony will be heard from academic experts, workers, business owners and elected officials, among others. Currently, approximately 180 individuals have registered to speak at this hearing. |
