Arbor Day Celebrated in New York with City of Albany Tivoli Park Announcement

New Yorkers Encouraged to Recognize Numerous Contributions Provided by Trees

 

As part of New York State’s weeklong celebration of Earth Day, Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), State Parks, Department of Agriculture and Markets join local officials and community groups in Arbor Day celebration.

The City of Albany’s Tivoli Lake Preserve will serve as the backdrop for this celebration and special park announcement featuring a ceremonial tree planting and dedication along with presentations of industry awards and the 2015 Arbor Day Poster.

Who: DEC Commissioner Joe Martens will be joined by City of Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan, State Agriculture Commissioner Richard Ball and State Parks Deputy Commissioner Tom Alworth. State and local officials and industry partners have also been invited to attend. 

When:  Friday, April 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. 

Where: Tivoli Lake Preserve – Albany, NY

(Entrance off Northern Boulevard onto Manning Boulevardopposite the Green Tech Academy, between the front and rear driveways of the former Philip Livingston School)
