Elevator Constructors Recruit Apprentices |

Albany, NY (September 16, 2016) - The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for the International Union of Elevator Constructors, Local Union #35, will conduct a recruitment from October 17, 2016 through November 17, 2016 for one elevator-escalator constructor and modernizer apprentice, the New York State Department of Labor announced today. Please note that the openings listed for apprentices represent the total number for four recruitment regions - the Capital District, Central, Mohawk Valley, and North Country regions. Applications will only be accepted online, anytime during the recruitment period, at www.neiep.org/careers.aspx. Applicants who do not have access to a computer may visit their local library or NYS Department of Labor Career Center. Applicants must take and pass the Elevator Industry Aptitude Test with a score of at least 70. A $25.00 testing fee is required on the testing day. The payment must be in the form of a money order or bank certified check (no cash or personal checks will be accepted). Please note, you may request that this fee be waived. Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner. Under state law, sponsors of programs cannot discriminate against applicants because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, or marital status. Women and minorities are encouraged to submit applications for apprenticeship programs. Sponsors of programs are required to adopt affirmative action plans for the recruitment of women and minorities.
