Overnight Lane and Intermittent Full Closures at Robert F. Kennedy Bridge/Bronx For Necessary Maintenance

Up to two lanes will be closed overnight on the Bronx span of the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge in the Queens/Manhattan-bound direction, starting Monday, September 26, and nightly through Friday, September 30, 2016. The closures are required to perform maintenance on the overhead sign structure.

During these weeknights, two lanes (out of four), traveling Queens- and Manhattan-bound, will be closed on the Bronx span from 10:00 p.m. through 5:00 a.m. In addition, beginning Wednesday night 9/28 there will be intermittent full closures of the bridge’s Bronx span in Queens- and Manhattan-bound direction required for 15-minute durations for crane operations.

This work is extremely weather-dependent and may be postponed until next week in the event of rain or high winds.

Motorists should expect delays and plan accordingly, or use an alternate route, during these weeknight periods.

Motorists can sign up for MTA e-mail or text alerts at www.mta.info and check the Bridges and Tunnels homepage or Facebook page for the latest information on this planned work.
