Metro-North and Long Island Rail Road Offer Special Getaway Deals to NY International Auto Show

Show Runs April 14 - 23 at Jacob Javits Convention Center
You don’t have to get “on the road again” to travel to the New York International Auto Show - just ride the rails.  The future of automobile design and technology is here, and it’s an easy train ride away on either Long Island Rail Road or Metro-North.  Both railroads are offering special discount packages to the New York International Auto Show at the Jacob Javits Center, April 14 to 23, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. (10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday April 16 and 23). Long Island Rail Road customers can take advantage of up to 30% savings for the package, which includes LIRR off-peak round-trip rail fare and admission to the Auto Show. Metro-North customers receive discount show admission and reduced rail fare.
 
Leave the driving to Metro-North and Long Island Rail Road, and don’t miss out on the chance to see nearly 1,000 of the world’s newest vehicles and futuristic concept cars before they’re available anywhere else.  Ushering in the latest automotive trends, the 2017 New York International Auto Show showcases an incredible collection of cutting-edge design, technology and extraordinary innovation.
 
Long Island Rail Road Getaway Package
The Getaway package includes discounted rail and admission to the show. Price is $30 for adults (zones 1-10) and $41 for adults (zones 12-14). The price is just $7 for children 5 to 11 years of age. Seniors 65+ should check current regular admission and rail fare and compare it with the adult package price.
 
Long Island Rail Road monthly and weekly ticket holders who present their commutation ticket, along with a printed copy of the NY Auto Show Flyer Coupon, will receive a $3 discount off their adult admission ticket.  Coupons are available for printing at: http://web.mta.info/lirr/getaways/newyorkcity/nyautoshow.htm
 
Long Island Rail Road customers purchasing tickets at LIRR Gray, Green or Blue Ticket Machines should press the “Getaways/Packages” button on the first screen, then select NYC Getaways, then Auto Show. Pay with credit cards or ATM/debit cards. Gray and green machines also accept cash.  Tickets can also be purchased at any open ticket window.  Click here for more information on buying tickets.
 
From Penn Station, customers can use the 34th Street entrance and walk west to 11th Avenue. The M34 bus is available at the corner of 34th Street and 8th Avenue. Customers can also take the   subway northbound one stop to Times Square, transfer to the westbound  train and take to 34th Street/Hudson Yards. (Transit fare is not included in package price).
 
Metro-North Getaway Package
ADMISSION: Discount Show admission: adults/seniors/disabled/ individuals receiving Medicare, $13; children 5-12, $5; children 3-4, $3; children under 3, free.
RAIL FARE: Discount round-trip rail fare. Check here for your boarding station:  
 
Purchase your rail/admission ticket from any Metro-North ticket office or full-service ticket vending machine (excluding Grand Central).Metro-North monthly/weekly ticket holders can purchase Auto Show admission ticket at a Metro-North ticket office or full-service ticket vending machines. Discount admission will not be honored by presenting your rail pass at the Auto Show.
 
Getting to the Javits Center from Grand Central is easier than ever.  Take a southbound  train to 34th Street/Hudson Yards station. Transit fare is not included in package price.
