Roster Unveiled for 2014 U.S. National Junior Evaluation Camp |

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - USA Hockey announced the 42 players that have been invited to the U.S. National Junior Evaluation Camp, Aug. 2-9, in Lake Placid, N.Y. The players will audition for spots on the U.S. National Junior Team that will take part in the 2015 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship, Dec. 26, 2014-Jan. 5, 2015, in Toronto and Montreal, Canada.
The United States has medaled in three of the last five IIHF World Junior Championships, including gold in 2013 and 2010 and bronze in 2011. Of the 42 players attending, seven are returnees from the 2014 U.S. National Junior Team. Twenty-four have won medals at IIHF events. The camp will be held at the Lake Placid Olympic Center. The U.S. players will practice and compete in international games against Sweden, Finland and the Czech Republic. Ticket information will be announced at a later date. NOTES: Of the 42 players invited to the U.S. National Junior Evaluation Camp, 12 competed in the United States Hockey League during the 2013-14 season, including nine from USA Hockey's National Team Development Program ... Eighteen players competed in the college hockey ranks last season ... Fourteen of the 42 players participated in last year's camp ... Mark Osiecki is head coach of the 2015 U.S. National Junior Team. He is currently an assistant coach for the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs ... The assistant coaches for Team USA are Don Granato (U.S. National Under-17 Team), Kevin Patrick (University of Vermont) and Mike Ayers (Boston College) ... Adam Nightingale (Michigan State University) is the video coordinator ... Jim Johannson, USA Hockey's assistant executive director of hockey operations, is serving as the general manager of Team USA for the sixth consecutive year ... Don Waddell (Pittsburgh Penguins), international consultant for USA Hockey, assists Johannson in evaluating and selecting players for the 2015 U.S. National Junior Team ... Mike Sullivan and Tony Granato (Pittsburgh Penguins) will serve as assistant coaches at the U.S. National Junior Evaluation Camp ...
