REMINDER: MTA to Perform Switch Replacement Work on B, D, F, M Lines Between May and July; Service Impacted on A, B, C, D, F, M Lines |

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) today reminds customers that switch replacement work will begin on the 6 Avenue line tomorrow. These switches near West 4 St allow trains to move between the uptown local and express tracks. As a result, there will be changes to service on the lines beginning tomorrow, Monday, May 15, at 5 a.m. through Monday, July 3, at 5 a.m. Customers are advised of the following service changes: Between May 15 and July 3, customers should expect their uptown commutes on the lines to be scheduled to take an additional two minutes. There will also be one fewer train operating during the morning rush hour, and two fewer trains and one fewer train operating during the afternoon rush. In addition, (express) trains, which normally operate express between Church Av and Jay St in Brooklyn, will operate local during this period. Between 11:45 p.m. on Friday, May 20, and 5 a.m. on Monday, May 22, and 11:45 p.m. on Friday, June 30, and 5 a.m. on Monday, July 3, uptown trains will operate express between Broadway-Lafyette and 47-50 Sts-Rockefeller Ctr. Weeknight overnight reroutes will occur between April 24 and July 14. Work will also occur during two weeks between June 5 and June 16.
