Sheet Metal Workers Recruit Apprentices |

Syracuse, NY (June 3, 2021) – The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC) for Sheet Metal Workers, Local Union #58, will conduct a recruitment from August 2, 2021 through July 5, 2022 for five Sheet Metal Worker apprentices, the New York State Department of Labor announced today. Please note the five openings listed for Sheet Metal Worker apprentices represent the total number for four recruitment regions - the Central, Mohawk Valley, North Country, and Southern Tier regions of the state. Applications can be completed online at www.smw58.org. If a computer is not available, applicants can visit their local library or obtain one from the Sheet Metal Workers, Local Union #58, 301 Pulaski St., Syracuse, from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., on the first Monday of each month, during the recruitment period. If the first Monday falls on a holiday, applications can be obtained on the second Monday of the month, at the same time and location. All applications must be received no later than July 5, 2022. Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner. Under state law, sponsors of programs cannot discriminate against applicants because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, or marital status. Women and minorities are encouraged to submit applications for apprenticeship programs. Sponsors of programs are required to adopt affirmative action plans for the recruitment of women and minorities. |
