Long Island City, NY (September 11, 2019) – The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for Abatement Workers, Local Union #12A, will conduct a recruitment from October 23, 2019 through November 5, 2019 for five Hazardous Materials Removal Worker apprentices, the New York State Department of Labor announced today. Please note that the 5 openings listed for apprentices represent the total number for two recruitment regions – the Long Island and New York City regions of the state. This is a limited-application recruitment. Only 50 applications will be distributed, on a first-come, first-served basis. The recruitment will be offered for 10 business days or until 50 applications have been issued, whichever comes first. Applications must be completed and returned in person at Local Union #12A, 47-14 32nd Place, Long Island City, NY, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, during the recruitment period. Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner.
