East River State Park Summer Nights - Movies in the Park Schedule Released

New York State Parks and Friends of East River State Park team up to provide a distinguished line-up of FREE movies at East River State Park

The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation and the Friends of East River State Park have teamed up and are pleased to announce a family-fun movie series located at East River State Park this summer season.  The free movies will range from popular Universal and Disney animated features, such as “Brave”, “Despicable Me 2”, “Finding Nemo” and the highly acclaimed “Frozen”, to classics including the famous romance “Casablanca”, “Groundhog Day” starring the always funny Bill Murray, and Stanley Kubrick’s “Paths of Glory”.  Also included in this list is this year’s Academy Award winning sci-fi thriller “Gravity”, starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney.

Admission:  FREE

Where:  East River State Park; 90 Kent Ave at North 8th St. Williamsburg, Brooklyn

When:  Tuesday nights from 7pm-10:30pm, July 8th to August 26th

Start Time:  Feature films start at sunset, seating begins at 7pm

East River State Park Summer Nights; Movies in the Park is a public entertainment program presented by NYS Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation and Friends of East River State Park.

Friends of East River State Park (FERSP) is a volunteer grassroots organization and community advocacy group in North Brooklyn.  Its mission is to support East River State Park by promoting enhancement and stewardship for the park to benefit the community.  The organization aims to provide funds, arrange volunteer work, sponsor local events, raise attention to environmental awareness and collaborate with NYS Parks to continually improve the park and its amenities. 

East River State Park Summer Nights is also sponsored by Greenpoint Landing, Elaine and Norm Brodsky, Smorgasburg, Biba of Williamsburg, Zyweic, Anella, Yuval Vidal Real Estate Broker, Town Square, Taxi Club Management and Williamsburg Dental Arts.
