More March Snow on the Way for Belleayre, Gore & Whiteface

2018-’19 Season Passes on Sale Now

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. --- March may be the best month of them all to ski and ride. The days are longer, the sun is brighter and traditionally March offers up more snowfall than any other month.

On the heels of last weekend’s Nor’easter another one, Quinn, may be on the way tonight and tomorrow and some weather experts are predicting that as much as 12-inches of new snow could blanket New York ski resorts to include Belleayre, in Highmount, Gore Mountain, in North Creek, and Whiteface Mountain, in Wilmington. So there is no better time than now to carve turns at your favorite resort.

While at either of the three resorts, put just 25-percent down on the purchase of your 2018-‘19 season pass and enjoy unlimited skiing and riding for the rest of this season. This new payment plan has no additional fees and just three easy payments.

All this week, it’s Passholder Appreciation Week at Gore. Just show your season pass to take advantage of a variety of deals every day through Sunday.  Find discounts at the Tannery Restaurant & Pub and other on-mountain dining, get your ski or snowboard tuned half-price, save on cross-country ski and snowshoe rentals or your favorite item in the retail shop, and more.

Don’t miss out on the fun at Belleayre. This Saturday you can ski or ride for $42 when you bring a grocery bag of canned pet food, a 10-pound or larger bag of dry pet food and/or pet toys to the resort’s ticket window and save on the purchase of your lift ticket. All donations will go to area shelters.

You’re also invited to participate in Saturday’s Mogul Mash and the ski patrol barbeque. The Mogul Mash is a fun event for all ages to show their talent in the lower Wanatuska bumps. Scores are based on ability to ski the bumps with rhythm, ability to stay in the fall line with the fewest deviations and overall technical ability.

The ski patrol barbeque is a great way for everyone to show support for the resort’s ski patrol. The festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. and the menu includes a barbeque platter of chicken, beef brisket or pulled pork. There’s also a raffle with tons of prizes to raise money to help fund this essential department of mountain heroes.

Next Saturday join in on the St. Patrick’s Day fun at Whiteface Mountain. There’s live music with Ausable Branch, in the newly renovated Cloudspin Bar & Grill, then on Sunday, March 18, it’s the final Give Back Sunday on the season. Bring a grocery bag of canned pet food, a 10-pound or larger bag of dry pet food and/or pet toys to the resort’s ticket window and save on the purchase of your lift ticket. All donations will go to area shelters.

Don’t forget that Whiteface’s First tracks program is a great way to get on the mountain and the new snow before everyone else.  Skiers and riders can take an early morning guided run Saturdays and Sundays before the lifts and trails open. First Tracks is limited to 14 intermediate and above level skiers and riders. For more details, or to register, email the mountain’s guest services desk, ski@whiteface.com.
