PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD ON THE CWM LANDFILL PROCEEDING EXTENDED DUE TO WEATHER CONDITIONS IN WESTERN NY

DEC Will Accept Written Comments Through Tuesday, November 25

Due to severe weather conditions in Western New York this past week, the public comment period for CWM’s application to construct and operate a new landfill at the company’s existing facility in the Towns of Porter and Lewiston, Niagara County, has been extended. DEC will now accept written comments that are received by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25th. The previous deadline was November 21st.

Comments may be submitted by mail to Chief Administrative Law Judge James T. McClymonds, NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, Office of Hearings and Mediation Services, 625 Broadway, 1st Floor, Albany, New York 12233-5500.  Comments may also be submitted via email address to CWM.RWMUNIT2@dec.ny.gov.

In addition, the deadline for filing of petitions for party status has also been extended, Petitions must be received at the DEC’s Office of Hearings and Mediation Services no later than 4 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2014.
