Celebrate Opening of Albany-Hudson Electric Trail on the Empire State Trail

Trail Partners Take First Day Hike on New Trail Spanning Rensselaer and Columbia Counties

Who:              Officials from the Empire State Trail, Hudson River Valley Greenway, New York State Parks, and trail partners

What:             Ceremonial opening of the Albany-Hudson Electric Trail/Empire State Trail

When:            1 p.m., Friday, January 1, 2021

Where:           Nassau Village Commons Park, 8 John Street, Nassau, NY

 

At the newly opened Albany Hudson Electric Trail, State Parks Commissioner Erik Kulleseid, Empire State Trail Director Andy Beers and Hudson Valley Greenway Executive Director Scott Keller will participate in one of the many walks and hikes being held across the state as part of the 10th Annual First Day Hikes program. The First Day Hikes program encourages people to begin the New Year by spending time outdoors at state parks, historic sites, wildlife areas, trails, and public lands across New York.
