Statement from MTA Chief Safety and Security Officer Patrick Warren on Arrests in the Subways by the NYPD

“In less than a day alert NYPD Transit officers in three boroughs made five arrests by being on platforms and on a train, available and visible when bad actors thought they could prey on New Yorkers. In four cases, arrests were made within minutes of the crimes and in another video was given to officers who spotted the perpetrator. It’s a reminder that those who commit crimes in the subways will have their pictures taken and face justice and we are grateful to those officers for promoting safety and removing weapons from the transit system.”
