What:  The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation invites the public to Get Outdoors with Smokey Bear and fish stocking event at Mount Loretto Unique Area. This free open house event will allow visitors to try out many outdoor recreational activities, and learn techniques from DEC staff. Activities include:

• Saltwater Paddling
• Camping Demos
• Bird Watching
• Meet and Greet with Smokey Bear
• Forest Ranger Demonstration
• Environmental Conservation Police Officer K-9 Demonstration
• Freshwater Fishing/Fish Stocking

Where:  Mount Loretto Unique Area, 6320 Hylan Blvd, Staten Island, NY 10309

When:  Saturday, October 13, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Fish stocking starts at 1 p.m. sharp.

(Visuals: stocking the Mount Loretto Pond with 250 4” – 6” largemouth bass and 2,000 – 4,000 fathead minnows. This involves a truck and bucket brigade, local volunteers and local residents. Members of the public participating in various events).
