Ride Metro-North to the Ram-Crusader Cup at Yankee Stadium This Saturday

Special Trains for College Game Supplement Metro-North’s Regular NFL Trains

Get to the gridiron without the gridlock!  Riding MTA Metro-North Railroad is the best way to see the clash between legendary rivals Fordham Rams and the Holy Cross Crusaders at Yankee Stadium this Saturday, November 12, at 3 p.m.  On Sunday, as always for 1 p.m. Jets or Giants games at MetLife Stadium, Metro-North will provide service from the New Haven Line to the Meadowlands Sports Complex.

Ram-Crusader Cup at Yankee Stadium

Starting three hours before kickoff and continuing throughout the game, and lasting until two hours after the game ends, Metro-North will continuously operate a special train stopping at Yankees-East 153rd Street, Harlem-125th Street and Grand Central Terminal. With regularly scheduled Hudson Line trains making those stops as well, Metro-North’s trains are scheduled to let football fans make easy transfers from all Harlem Line and New Haven Line trains.

Hudson Line customers can ride directly to Yankees-East 153rd Street without a transfer. Local Hudson Line trains always stop at Yankees-East 153rd Street, and four express trains from Poughkeepsie will make a special stop for fans. Returning from the game, Poughkeepsie-bound express trains are scheduled to depart at 6:29 p.m., 6:58 p.m. and 7:58 p.m.

The walk from the Yankees-East 153rd Street station to Yankee Stadium is less than 10 minutes and takes you through Heritage Field in Macombs Dam Park.

Yankees-East 153rd Street is one of Metro-North Railroad’s newest stations. Its construction coincided with the building of the new Yankee Stadium. The station opened on May 23, 2009, shortly after Yankee Stadium’s opening on April 3, 2009. Metro-North operates special service to the station not just for Yankee games, but to all major events hosted at the stadium, including soccer and football games and concerts.

New Haven Line Service for Los Angeles Rams vs. New York Jets Sunday, November 13

On Sunday, the Los Angeles Rams will visit MetLife Stadium to take on the New York Jets. For this game, as for all Jets and Giants games at 1 p.m. on Sundays, Metro-North and NJ Transit have teamed up to operate a special New Haven Line train departing from New Haven’s Union Station at 8:40 a.m., with additional stops at West Haven, Fairfield Metro, Fairfield, Bridgeport, Westport, South Norwalk, Darien, Stamford, Greenwich, Rye and Larchmont. The train provides direct service to NJ Transit’s Secaucus Junction Station, where customers can change trains for a ten-minute shuttle train scheduled to arrive at 11:36 a.m. at the Meadowlands Sports Complex.

After the game, customers can take the 5:10 p.m. departure from the Meadowlands Sports Complex to Secaucus Junction. At Secaucus Junction, customers can connect with the 5:38 p.m. train to Penn Station-NY for direct service back to those New Haven Line stations.

Non-Direct Harlem Line, Hudson Line & New Haven Line Service for Jets/Giants Games

In addition to the New Haven Line’s special service, Metro-North customers can ride any train to Grand Central Terminal then ride the subway, walk or catch a cab to Penn Station-NY. To take the subway, board the 42nd Street S Shuttle for a 90-second trip to Times Square, then transfer to the downtown 123 for a one-stop ride to 34th Street-Penn Station.

At Penn Station-NY, customers can transfer to NJ Transit service to the Meadowlands Sports Complex. After the game, there are many NJ Transit trains returning to Penn Station-NY.
