Lathers Recruit Apprentices |

Woodside, NY (May 3, 2017) - The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for the Metallic Lathers and Reinforcing Ironworkers, Local Union #46, will conduct a recruitment from June 01, 2017 through June 14, 2017 for 50 lather (wood, wire, and metal) apprentices, the New York State Department of Labor announced today. Please note that the 50 openings listed for apprentices represent the total number for three recruitment regions: the Hudson Valley, Long Island, and New York City regions. This program’s jurisdiction includes the counties of Bronx, Kings, Nassau, New York, Queens, Richmond, Rockland, Suffolk, and Westchester. Applications can be submitted online at www.46apprentice.org, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Monday through Friday, excluding legal holidays, during the recruitment period (please note the web address will only be active during the recruitment period). Only the first 500 applications will be considered. Applicants who do not have access to a computer may visit their local library or a NYS Department of Labor Career Center. Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner. Under state law, sponsors of programs cannot discriminate against applicants because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, or marital status. Women and minorities are encouraged to submit applications for apprenticeship programs. Sponsors of programs are required to adopt affirmative action plans for the recruitment of women and minorities. |
