DEC Extends Hours at Lake George Beach

Lake George Beach will be open for two additional hours each day this summer, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) announced today.

The beach, located on the southern end of Lake George along Beach Road in the town of Lake George, Warren County, is open free of charge from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day through the Labor Day holiday. There is a $10 per car fee to park in the parking lot and $6 per car fee after 5 p.m.  People who walk-in can use the beach for no fee.

The beach underwent a two year improvement project that included a refurbished parking lot, reconfigured traffic flow and repaved Beach Road, and a relocated and refurbished boat launch.

Crews paved the parking lot and Beach Road with porous asphalt and installed new stormwater management infrastructure.  The refurbished boat launch includes a boat inspection and boat wash station to prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species.
