MAXI PRIEST TO HEADLINE FIRST CONCERT OF CAPITAL CONCERT SERIES PRESENTED BY MILLER LITE AT THE EMPIRE STATE PLAZA

Concert Moved Indoors to the Empire State Plaza Convention Center

What:
The first free concert in the Capital Concert Series Presented by Miller Lite will feature reggae artist Maxi Priest. Priest is a graduate of the London reggae sound system Saxon Studio International. With “Close to You,” Priest became the first in his musical genre to have a No. 1 hit worldwide, including the U.S. Billboard charts. His 2019 album “It All Comes Back To Love,” released on S-Curve Records/BMG and co-produced by Shaggy, was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album.

Sista Nickey & the One Drops will open the show. Sista Nickey is a vocal artist, performer, and coach who has made a name for herself in the music industry. A key figure in the reggae community and beyond, Sista Nickey seeks to use her platform to inspire, uplift, and educate her audience on social justice issues. 

When: 5:30-8:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 10

Where: Due to the forecast for inclement weather, the concert has been moved indoors to the Empire State Plaza Convention Center.
