Elevator Constructors Recruit Apprentices |

Rochester, NY (August 28, 2014) - The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for The International Union of Elevator Constructors, Local Union #27, will conduct a recruitment from September 29, 2014 through October 10, 2014 for two elevator-escalator constructor and modernizer apprentices, State Labor Commissioner Peter M. Rivera announced today. Application requests must be made in writing to NEIEP Region 12, 4 Kitchener Road, Sterling, MA 01564-2225, during the recruitment period. Application requests must be postmarked no later than October 10, 2014. Completed applications must be postmarked no later than October 31, 2014. Applicants must take and pass the Elevator Industry Aptitude Test with a score of at least 70. A $25.00 testing fee is required on the testing day. The payment must be in the form of a money order or bank certified check (no cash or personal checks will be accepted). Please note, you may request that this fee be waived. Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner. Under state law, sponsors of programs cannot discriminate against applicants because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, or marital status. Women and minorities are encouraged to submit applications for apprenticeship programs. Sponsors of programs are required to adopt affirmative action plans for the recruitment of women and minorities.
