State Parks Commissioner and Partners Unveil New Student-Designed Community Playground

Construction Begins on Central Brooklyn’s Newest Open Space

State Parks Commissioner Rose Harvey joins Assemblyman Nick Perry, The Trust for Public Land, New York City Department of Environmental Protection, New York Road Runners and Winthrop school faculty and students to unveil the newest student-designed community playground.

The community playground is made possible through these close partnerships under Governor Cuomo’s Vital Brooklyn Initiative. This is the first open space project under the initiative which will transform 8 playgrounds, renovate 22 community gardens and improve 4 recreation centers in Central Brooklyn by 2020.
