More Snow… More Trails Ahead of the Holidays at Whiteface Mountain

WILMINGTON, N.Y. --- As the snow continues to fall, more trails continue to open at Whiteface Mountain, in Wilmington, N.Y. Just in time for the approaching holidays, more than 12-inches of snow has fallen on the Olympic mountain over the last 72 hours and more is on the way. Twenty-two trails are now open for skiing and riding including Essex, Mountain Run and Upper Thruway.

Temperatures and conditions also remain ideal for snowmaking. Whiteface Mountain’s low-energy, high-efficiency snow guns continue to blast snow on Upper Valley, Broadway, Draper’s Drop, Upper Thruway and more.

Whiteface’s First tracks program has started for the season.  Skiers and riders can take an early morning guided run Saturdays and Sundays before the lifts and trails open to everyone else. First Tracks is limited to 14 intermediate and above level skiers and riders. For more details, or to register, email the mountain’s guest services desk, ski@whiteface.com.

This Saturday and Sunday, join High Peaks Cyclery for their telemark demo weekend. This is a great opportunity to test out this season’s alpine touring and telemark skis and boots. All ski levels are welcome and pre-registration is encouraged by contacting High Peaks Cyclery.
