Opening Reception for “Harlem Art Then and Now: A Celebration of Community and Contemporary Art” exhibit, 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, February 12

 

What:             The Office of General Services continues its celebration of the return of the New York State Harlem Art Collection to the Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. State Office Building for the first time since the mid-1990s with a new exhibit that features selections from the Harlem Collection alongside works by contemporary Harlem artists from outside the collection.
 
Who:              New York State Office of General Services Commissioner RoAnn Destito and representatives of The Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce, the Harlem Arts Alliance, and the International Agency for Minority Artist Affairs.

Where:          Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. State Office Building, 163 West 125th Street, second floor Art Gallery and Community Room.

When:            Wednesday, February 12
                      6 to 8 p.m. with remarks at 7 p.m.

The exhibit is the result of a collaborative effort among OGS, The Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce, the Harlem Arts Alliance, and the International Agency for Minority Artist Affairs. The free exhibit will be on view to the public from noon to 7 p.m. each Friday in the Powell Building’s second-floor Art Gallery and Community Room through March 27, 2020.
