Albany, NY (March 3, 2021) – The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC) for Heat & Frost Insulators & Allied Workers, Local Union #40, will conduct a recruitment from May 10, 2021 through April 26, 2022 for five Insulation and Asbestos Worker apprentices, the New York State Department of Labor announced today.

Applications can be obtained at JATC for Heat & Frost Insulators & Allied Workers, Local Union #40, 890 Third Street, Albany, NY, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on the second and fourth Monday of each month, excluding legal holidays, during the recruitment period.

The Committee requires that applications:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have a minimum of a 10th grade education with a passing grade in high school Math I.
• Must be able to work at heights using scaffolds and ladders.
• Must be able to work indoors and outdoors.
• Must sign a consent form agreeing to random drug screening, at the expense of the sponsor, after selection and prior to enrollment in apprenticeship.
• Must reside within the geographic jurisdiction of Local Union #40 for at least one year prior to application date. This includes the counties of Albany, Clinton, Columbia, Delaware, Essex, Franklin, Fulton, Greene, Hamilton, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Sullivan, Ulster, Warren, and Washington.
• Must provide DD-214, Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty, if applicable, after selection and prior to enrollment in apprenticeship.
