MTA Announces Virtual Board Meeting to Be Held on March 25

One-Day, Virtual Meeting Will Combine Regular Monthly Board Meeting with Committee Meetings

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) today announced that it will hold a one-day, virtual joint monthly meeting of the MTA Board and the Board’s committees on Wednesday, March 25, at 10 a.m.

The Chairman will convene a joint meeting of the MTA Board and the Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North Railroad, New York City Transit, MTA Bridges and Tunnels, Finance, and Audit committees. Materials for the monthly meeting of the Capital Program Oversight Committee will be posted online only. The Governance Committee meeting previously scheduled for March 25 will be rescheduled. New Yorkers are encouraged to visit new.mta.info/virtualboardmeeting to view the meeting online.

The public comment period of the monthly board meeting will also be transformed into a virtual comment period to ensure the public has an opportunity to participate. The MTA will collect public comments via video and phone on Monday, March 23. Those who wish to participate will have the opportunity to register on Monday, March 23, between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m., online at new.mta.info/virtualboardmeeting. Registrants will receive an email notice with a link that will allow them to record comments between noon and 5 p.m. on March 23. In keeping with MTA rules, each speaker will have two minutes of airtime. Participants are required to adhere to the MTA’s Code of Conduct. The first 30 minutes of public comment will be delivered at the board meeting and the remainder will be posted online and made available to the Board and public on March 25.

Members of the media can view the meeting online at new.mta.info/virtualboardmeeting. The MTA will hold a conference call with reporters in lieu of the standard MTA press conference following the meeting.
