Plainview, NY – The New York State Department of Public Service (DPS) announced today that it will hold three additional hearings in Queens and Suffolk Counties to seek public comment on PSEG Long Island’s Utility 2.0 Long Range Plan. The public will have an opportunity to present their comments regarding PSEG Long Island’s Utility 2.0 Long Range Plan.
The public statement hearings will take place before DPS-Long Island staff. A transcript of the hearings will be made and included in the record of the proceeding. An information session, at which PSEG Long Island and DPS staff will describe PSEG Long Island’s plan, will be held prior to each of the public statement hearings.

On July 1, 2014, in accordance with the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) Reform Act, PSEG Long Island submitted to the DPS for review and recommendation, its proposed long-range plan. In accordance with the LIPA Reform Act, the purpose of the plan is to implement energy efficiency measures, distributed generation, and advanced grid technology programs for the purpose of providing customers with tools to more efficiently and effectively manage their energy usage and utility bills, and improve system reliability and power quality. This is the first annual filing of the plan. Public input and comments on the plan are requested and will be taken into account by the DPS in its review and in the development of its recommendations. It is not necessary to make an appointment in advance or to present written material in order to speak at the DPS public statement hearings. Speakers will be called after completing a card requesting time to speak. Please note that comments should be related specifically to PSEG Long Island’s plan. Disabled persons requiring special accommodations may place a collect call to the Department of Public Service’s Human Resources Management Office at (518) 474-2520 as soon as possible. TDD users may request a sign language interpreter by placing a call through the New York Relay Service at 711 to reach the Department of Public Service’s Human Resource Office at the previously mentioned number.
