Sheet Metal Workers Recruit Apprentices |

Elmira, NY (January 29, 2016) - The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for Area Sheet Metal Workers, Local Union #112, will conduct a recruitment from February 29, 2016 through February 24, 2017 for 10 sheet metal worker apprentices, the New York State Department of Labor announced today.
Please note that the 10 openings listed for apprentices represent the total number for three recruitment regions: the Mohawk Valley, Southern Tier, and Western regions. This program’s jurisdiction includes the counties of Allegany, Broome, Chemung, Delaware, Otsego, Schuyler, Steuben, Tioga, and Tompkins.
Applications can be obtained at Local Union #112, 1200 Clemens Center Parkway, Elmira, NY between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding legal holidays, during the recruitment period. Applications can also be downloaded from the JATC website: smw112.org. Applications are accepted continuously.

Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner. Under state law, sponsors of programs cannot discriminate against applicants because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, or marital status. Women and minorities are encouraged to submit applications for apprenticeship programs. Sponsors of programs are required to adopt affirmative action plans for the recruitment of women and minorities. |
