Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services Responds to Water Main Break in Troy

The Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services Office of Emergency Management today was directed by Governor Cuomo to respond to the major water main break in Troy located on 5th Avenue which is affecting numerous homes and businesses along State Route 4 and other low lying areas.
 
Rensselaer County has requested the State to provide a 5,500 gallon water tanker through the State’s NY Responds incident management system.  This will provide potable water to affected residents. 
 
Kevin Wisely, Deputy Commissioner of Emergency Services and Director of the Office of Emergency Management said, “At the direction of Governor Cuomo, the Office of Emergency Management will provide any resources to the City of Troy to assist with the response efforts due to the water main break to restore water the impacted area.”
 
Regional staff will report to the Incident Command Post in the City of Troy and are in constant communication with local and state officials.  The Office of Emergency Management will monitor and assist with any additional needs from the impacted areas.
