ROCHESTER, N.Y. – A Rochester-area family is enjoying the riches due to the matriarch’s incredibly good luck at a particular lottery vending machine.

The Falvo family is sharing the top prize of $3,000,000 on the $3,000,000 Supercash scratch-off. The mother, Antoinette Falvo of Irondequoit, purchased the lucky ticket while having coffee with a friend at a local Wegmans.

Antoinette’s daughter, Susanne DiCesare, representing the Falvo family, noted that her mom is incredibly lucky – she previously won $100,000 on a ticket purchased at the exact same machine.

“She is very lucky in general,” said DiCesare. “She always taught us to shoot for the stars and this time, she landed right on the money.”

Dicesare said she and her siblings feel that their late father had a hand in leading their mother to the winning ticket.

“This was his way of taking care of my mom,” said DiCesare. “He was and still is always looking out for her like that.”

DiCesare and her four siblings, aged 47 to 60, are splitting the jackpot prize with their mother.

DiCesare said she and her siblings will use their share of the money to take care of family, including their mother, “We’re all grateful to her for so many things. We’ll always be able to take care of her now.”

Each of the six family members will receive their prize in a lump sum of $390,000 before required withholdings, netting them each $258,102.  The family members include:

  • Susanne DiCesare, 47, from Brighton

  • Nancy Marou, 53, from Ontario

  • Jeanne Mulley, 56, from Penfield

  • Patricia DiPrima, 58, from Webster
