These weekend service changes are part of the MTA Subway Action Plan, the Enhanced Station Initiative in Queens and Manhattan and ongoing maintenance, repair and upgrade work throughout the MTA New York City Transit subway system.  These programs maintain and upgrade track, signal, station and other infrastructure in order to provide MTA customers with safe and reliable service.  More information on the 2015-2019 Capital Program is available here.

This weekend, work crews will be dispersed throughout the entire subway system to perform a variety of critical tasks in the areas of track replacement and maintenance, signal modernization, station enhancements, electrical upgrades and communication improvements.  All of this work is aligned with the MTA Subway Action Plan, a comprehensive plan to stabilize and modernize the subway system by attacking the key drivers of 79 percent of delay-causing major incidents and strategically targeting additional personnel and equipment to focus on critical parts of the system.

TripPlanner+ is an online tool that provides customized travel guidance based on available service and takes weekend service diversions into account.  In addition, customers can receive customized subway status emails or texts by signing up at www.MyMTAalerts.com.

From 3:30 a.m. Saturday, June 16, to 10 p.m. Sunday, June 17,  service is suspended in both directions between 137 St and 242 St due to track replacement.  For alternate service take the , M3, M100 and shuttle buses.   trains will run between South Ferry and 137 St.  Free shuttle buses provide alternate service along four routes.   Use nearby  stations via transfer at 59 St , 168 St , or 207 St . 

From 11:45 p.m. Friday, June 15, to 5 a.m. Monday, June 18,  service will be suspended in Brooklyn due to Fix&Fortify Sandy Recovery Work in the Clark St Tunnel.  This project is part of MTA’s ongoing efforts to fix assets damaged during Sandy, and include repairs and rehabilitation of tracks, signals, pump rooms, fire protection system, and power and communication cables.

•  trains will not run in Brooklyn.   and  trains will run local in Brooklyn.  Service will not be available at the Clark St and Hoyt St stations.  As an alternative, use the nearby Borough Hall and Nevins St .   
•  trains will run between South Ferry and the Bronx, making local stops between Chambers St and 34 St.
•  trains will run between 14 St and Harlem-148 St. Transfer at Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr or Times Sq , or free out of system transfer between Bowling Green  and South Ferry .  
•  service will extend to New Lots Av except from 4:30 a.m. Saturday, June 16 to 10 p.m. Sunday, June 17, when the last stop for all Brooklyn-bound  trains will be Crown Hts-Utica Av. Free shuttle buses will make all station stops between Crown Hts-Utica Av and New Lots Av during this time.  Transfer between trains and shuttle buses at Crown Hts-Utica Av. 
•  service will be extended to Flatbush Av-Brooklyn College to replace the .

From 11:45 p.m. Friday, June 15, to 5 a.m. Monday, June 18,  service is suspended in both directions between Eastchester-Dyre Av  and E 180 St due to track maintenance.   trains will run between South Ferry and E 180 St.   trains will run between Flatbush Av-Brooklyn Av and 241 St.  Free shuttle buses will run between Dyre Av and E 180 St.  Transfer between free shuttle buses and trains at E 180 St. 

From 4:30 a.m. Saturday, June 16 to 10 p.m. Sunday, June 17,  service is suspended in both directions between Crown Hts-Utica Av and New Lots Av due to track replacement.   service operates between Woodlawn and Crown Hts-Utica Av.  Free shuttle buses will make all station stops between Crown Hts-Utica Av and New Lots Av during this time.  Transfer between trains and shuttle buses at Crown Hts-Utica Av. 

From 6:45 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 16 and Sunday, June 17, Woodlawn-bound  trains skip 183 St, Fordham Rd, Kingsbridge Rd, Bedford Pk Blvd, and Mosholu Pkwy due to track maintenance.  Use a Manhattan-bound  train to complete your trip.  Transfer at Woodlawn or Burnside Av. 

From 10 p.m. Friday, June 15, to 5 a.m. Monday, June 18, uptown  trains run local from Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall and 125 St, and downtown  trains run local from 125 St to Grand Central-42 St due to track replacement.

From 11:45 p.m. Friday, June 15, to 5 a.m. Monday, June 18,  trains will run local in Brooklyn and make  station stops due to Fix&Fortify Sandy Recovery Work in the Clark St Tunnel.   service will be extended to Flatbush Av-Brooklyn College to replace the .   trains will run between Woodlawn and Crown Hts-Utica Av.   For service to New Lots Av, use free shuttle buses making all station stops between Crown Hts-Utica Av and New Lots Av during this time.  Transfer between trains and shuttle buses at Crown Hts-Utica Av.  A free out-of-system transfer is available between Bowling Green  and South Ferry  stations.  

From 9:45 p.m. Friday, June 15, to 5 a.m. Monday, June 18, downtown  trains run express Grand Central-42 St to Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall due to station enhancements.  Use an uptown  local, or  to complete your trip.  Transfer at Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall, 14 St-Union Sq, or Grand Central-42 St.   

From 10 p.m. Friday, June 15, to 5 a.m. Monday, June 18,  trains stop at 155 St in both directions due to station enhancements.  As a reminder, the 163 St station is closed until September 2018. 

From 10 p.m. Friday, June 15, to 5 a.m. Monday, June 18,  trains stop at Liberty Av, Van Siclen Av, and Shepherd Av in both directions due to track maintenance. 

At all times until September 2018  trains skip 163 St-Amsterdam Av in both directions due to MTA’s Enhanced Station Initiative project.  When this project is completed, customers will benefit from critical structural and safety repairs and improvements to concrete and steel features such as columns, beams, platforms, walls and stairs. There will also be other improvements and upgrades such as improved waterproofing, a reconfigured mezzanine area including new glass barriers, new security cameras, LED lighting for increased light and energy efficiency, and enhanced signage for easier navigation including digital, real-time service change and train and bus arrival information.  For alternate service during this closure, use the nearby 168 St , 155 St , or 157 St  instead.  Use M3, M100 or M101 buses and transfer to the  at 168 St or 155 St with MetroCard.  Need to transfer to another bus?  Ask the M3, M100 or M101 driver for a MetroCard Bus Transfer which is valid on your next local bus ride within two hours.  On your return trip, ask the station agent at 168 St or 155 St for a transfer to the bus.

From 9:45 p.m. Friday, June 15, to 5 a.m. Monday, June 18, uptown  trains run express from 59 St-Columbus Circle to 125 St due to station enhancements.  Use a downtown  local or  to complete your trip.  Transfer at 59 St-Columbus Circle or 125 St.  As a reminder,  service does not run overnight.       

Beginning 8:30 p.m. Friday, June 15,  service will end early due station enhancements at 72 St and 110 St.  Take the  and/or  instead.  As a reminder,  service does not run on weekends.  

At all times until September 2018,  trains will skip Cathedral Parkway-110 St in both directions due to MTA’s Enhanced Station Initiative project.  When this project is completed, customers will benefit from critical structural and safety repairs and improvements to concrete and steel features such as columns, beams, platforms, walls and stairs.  There will also be other improvements and upgrades such as improved waterproofing, a reconfigured mezzanine area including new glass barriers, new security cameras, LED lighting for increased light and energy efficiency, and enhanced signage for easier navigation including digital, real-time service change and train and bus arrival information.  For alternate service during this closure, walk to the nearby  stations at 116 St and 103 St, along Fredrick Douglas Blvd/Central Park West.  Or take the  at 110 St, along Broadway.  Use the M10 bus along Fredrick Douglas Blvd and transfer to the  ( overnight) at 116 St or 103 St with MetroCard.  If you need to transfer to another bus, ask the M10 bus operator for a MetroCard Bus Transfer, which can be used on your next local bus ride within two hours.  On your return trip, ask the station agent at 116 St or 103 St for a transfer to the bus.

At all times until late October 2018,  trains will skip 72 St in both directions due to MTA’s Enhanced Station Initiative project.  See the BC entry above for project details.  For alternate service during this closure, use nearby  stations at 81 St-Museum of Natural History and 59 St-Columbus Circle.  Or take the  at 72 St, along Broadway.  Use an M10 bus along Frederick Douglass Blvd and transfer to the  ( overnight) at 81 St or 59 St with MetroCard.  If you need to transfer to another bus, ask the M10 bus operator for a MetroCard Bus Transfer which can be used on your next local bus ride within two hours.  On your return trip, ask the station agent at 81 St or 59 St for a transfer to the bus.

At all times until late October 2018,  trains will skip 86 St in both directions due to MTA’s Enhanced Station Initiative project.  See the  entry above for project details.  For alternate service during this closure, use nearby C stations at 81 St-Museum of Natural History and 96 St.  Or take the  at 86 St, along Broadway.  Use an M10 bus along Frederick Douglass Blvd and transfer to the  ( overnight) at 81 St or 96 St with MetroCard.  If you need to transfer to another bus, ask the M10 bus operator for a MetroCard Bus Transfer which can be used on your next local bus ride within two hours.  On your return trip, ask the station agent at 81 St or 96 St for a transfer to the bus.

From 9:45 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Friday, June 15, and from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday, June 16 and Sunday, June 17,  service is suspended in both directions between 145 St and 168 St due to station improvements.   trains will run between 145 St and Euclid Av.   trains will make station stops at 155 St in both directions.  Transfer at 145 St.

From 10:45 p.m. Friday, June 15, to 5 a.m. Monday, June 18, Norwood-205 St bound  trains are rerouted via the  line from Coney Island-Stillwell Av to 36 St due to electrical improvements.  Use a Coney Island-Stillwell Av bound  train to complete your trip.  Transfer at 36 St, 62 St-New Utrecht, or Coney Island-Stillwell Av. 

From 10:45 p.m. to 6 a.m. Friday, June 15 to Monday, June 18, Manhattan-bound  trains run express from 36 St to Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr due to track maintenance.  Use a Coney Island-Stillwell Av bound  local or  to complete your trip.  Transfer at Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr or 36 St. 

From 9:45 p.m. Friday, June 15, to 5 a.m. Monday, June 18,  trains are rerouted via the  line in both directions between W 4 St-Wash Sq and 36 St due to track maintenance.  Use nearby  stations on 6 Av, , and/or Lexington Av  local or  to complete your trip.  For service to Queens Plaza, use the , days/evenings.  Transfer at W 4 St-Wash Sq , Times Sq-42 St/Port Authority , 47-50 Sts , 21 St-Queensbridge , and or 74 St Roosevelt Av .  Free shuttle buses provide alternate service connecting Court Sq-23 St, 21 St-Queensbridge, and Queens Plaza.    

From 12:01 a.m. Saturday, June 16 to 5 a.m. Monday, June 18,  trains run local in both directions between 71 Av and 21 St-Queensbridge due to signal modernization. 

At all times until mid 2018, Manhattan-bound  trains skip Avenue U, Avenue P, Avenue N, Bay Pkwy and Avenue I due to station renewal work on the Culver Line .  When finished, more than 27,000 daily customers will benefit from repaired staircases, fare control areas, walls, floors, platform girders, new platform windscreens, rubbing boards, tactile warning strips, improved lighting and artwork. 

• For service to these stations, take a Manhattan-bound  train to Kings Hwy or 18 Av and transfer to a Coney Island-Stillwell Av bound .
• For service from these stations, take a Coney Island-Stillwell Av bound  train to Kings Hwy or Avenue X and transfer to a Manhattan-bound .

From 12:01 a.m. Saturday, June 16, to 5 a.m. Monday, June 18,  trains run in both directions between 71 Av and 21 St-Queensbridge due to signal modernization. 

At all times until Summer 2018, Jamaica Center Parsons/Archer-bound  trains skip 121 St due to station rehabilitation work.  For service to this station, take the J to Sutphin Blvd and transfer to a Broad St-bound .  As a reminder, Broad St-bound  trains skip 121 St from 7:15 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. on weekdays; take the  instead.  For service from this station, take the  to 111 St and transfer to a Jamaica Center-bound . 

From 9:45 p.m. Friday, June 15, to 5 a.m. Monday, June 18,  trains are suspended in both directions between Delancey-Essex Sts and Broad St due to track maintenance.   service will run between Jamaica Center and Delancey-Essex Sts.  For service between Delancey-Essex Sts and Broad St, use the  to nearby stations via transfer at Bleecker St .  For service to/from Manhattan, take the  or  at Broadway Junction.  As a reminder, downtown  trains run express from Grand Central-42 St to Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall from10 p.m. Friday, June 15, to 5 a.m. Monday, June 18. 

From 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 16 and Sunday, June 17,  trains run every 24 minutes between Canarsie-Rockaway Pkwy and Broadway Junction due to track replacement.   service will operate in two sections: between 8 Av and Broadway Junction and between Broadway Junction and Canarsie-Rockaway Pkwy.  To continue your trip, transfer at Broadway Junction. 

From 9:45 p.m. Friday, June 15, to 5 a.m. Monday, June 18,  trains are suspended in both directions between Delancey-Essex Sts and Myrtle Av due to track maintenance.   trains will run between Metropolitan Av and Myrtle Av.  For service between Delancey-Essex Sts and Myrtle Av, transfer to the  at Myrtle Av. 

At all times until fall 2018, Coney Island-Stillwell Av bound  trains skip Fort Hamilton Pkwy, New Utrecht Av, 18 Av, 20 Av, Kings Hwy, Avenue U and 86 St due to station rehabilitation work at nine stations on the Sea Beach Line.  When finished, this will yield a better travel experience for our customers including the installation of elevators at 8 Av and New Utrecht Av stations, providing our mobility impaired customers with better accessibility, upgraded communication systems, installation of Help Point intercoms, new stairways and handrails, reconstructed platforms and overpasses, repairs to canopies and columns, and artwork.

• For service to these stations, take the Coney Island-Stillwell Av bound  to Bay Pkwy or Coney Island-Stillwell Av and transfer to a Manhattan-bound .
• For service from these stations, take a Manhattan-bound  to Bay Pkwy or 8 Av and transfer to a Coney Island-Stillwell Av bound .
• For New Utrecht Av-62 St, take the  Transfer between  and  trains at 36 St or Coney Island-Stillwell Av.

At all times until the end of June 2018,  trains skip 30 Av and 36 Av in both directions due to MTA’s Enhanced Station Initiative project.  When this project is completed, customers will benefit from critical structural and safety repairs and improvements to concrete and steel features such as columns, beams, platforms, walls and stairs. There will also be other improvements and upgrades such as improved waterproofing, a reconfigured mezzanine area including new glass barriers, new security cameras, LED lighting for increased light and energy efficiency, and enhanced signage for easier navigation including digital, real-time service change and train and bus arrival information.  There will also be a new staircase for exiting from the 30 Av Astoria-bound platform to the street-level intersection of 30th Avenue and Newtown Avenue.  For alternate service during this closure, use the nearby open Astoria line stations for  service at Broadway, Astoria Blvd, and 39 Av, or go to the Steinway St or 36 St  stations.  Or, use the following convenient bus route(s):

• Q102 to open Astoria line stations, Queensboro Plaza or Queens Plaza
• Q18 to Northern Blvd .
• Q66 to Steinway St , Northern Blvd , 21 St-Queensbridge , Queensboro Plaza , and Queens Plaza .
• Q69 and Q100 Ltd to 21 St-Queensbridge , Queens Plaza , Queensboro Plaza .

From 3:45 a.m. Saturday, June 16 to 10 p.m. Sunday, June 17,  service is suspended in both directions between Ditmars Blvd and Queensboro Plaza due to track replacement.   trains will run between Queensboro Plaza and Coney Island-Stillwell Av.  Free shuttle buses make all  line station stops between Ditmars Blvd and Queensboro Plaza.  Transfer between trains and buses at Queensboro Plaza.

From 11 p.m. Friday, June 15, to 5 a.m. Monday, June 18, Manhattan-bound  trains stop at 53 St and 45 St due to electrical improvements.
