For Immediate Release – August 3, 2016

The New York Lottery today announced two top prize winning tickets for the August 2 TAKE 5 drawing were sold at M & M Super Shoppe at 104 Lafayette Avenue in Suffern. Each winning ticket is worth $34,841.

“It is quite intriguing to see two top prizes for Take 5 won at the same store, and we’ll be waiting to see if it is two players who like to play the same numbers or just a player who likes their lucky numbers so much they played them twice,” said Gardner Gurney, Director of the Division of Lottery, New York State Gaming Commission.

In addition to the two $34,841 top prizes for the August 2 TAKE 5 drawing, which was won by matching five out of five numbers, 262 players each purchased winning tickets worth $398.50 by matching four out of five numbers for the drawing. In total, there were 95,399 TAKE 5 winners for the August 2 drawing.

The winning numbers for the August 2 TAKE 5 drawing were 02-10-17-20-38.

The Lottery encourages everyone who bought a New York Lottery draw game ticket, to check their tickets again, as they could be holding a winner. Tickets expire one year after the game’s drawing.

The winners may claim the tickets at Empire City Casino at Yonkers Raceway at 810 Yonkers Avenue in Yonkers, NY 10704 or any of the Lottery’s Customer Service Centers statewide, including the Lottery’s Fishkill office at 18 Westage Business Center, Hudson Valley Towne Center, Suite 6, Fishkill, NY 12524. About the New York Lottery

The New York Lottery continues to be North America’s largest and most profitable Lottery, contributing $3.30 billion in fiscal year 2015-2016 to help support education in New York State.  The Lottery’s contribution represents 14 percent of total state education aid to local school districts.

New York Lottery revenue is distributed to local school districts by the same statutory formula used to distribute other state aid to education.  It takes into account both a school district’s size and its income level; larger, lower-income school districts receive proportionately larger shares of Lottery school funding.
