The comment period for New York State's Combined Plan for Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funding is now open. The Plan represents the vision of New York's workforce development system and how it will succeed in aligning and integrating federal education, employment, and training programs; guiding investments to ensure that training and services meet the needs of businesses and job seekers alike; applying consistent job-driven training strategies across all relevant federal programs; and engaging economic, educational, and workforce partners in improving the workforce development system.

The Combined State Plan is required in order to receive funding through WIOA and covers the program years 2016-2019. A public comment period is open for 32 days, concluding on February 8, 2016.
