LIRR Summer Saturdays Return for 2019

All LIRR Monthly Tickets Valid for Travel Systemwide; Monthly Ticketholders Can Travel With Up to Four Additional People for Just $1 Each

For 12 consecutive Saturdays from June 1 through August 24, the Long Island Rail Road will honor all monthly tickets for travel to and from all LIRR stations, regardless of what stations are printed on the ticket. Monthly ticketholders traveling on these days will be able to bring up to four additional travelers for only $1 per person each way. The special ticketing policies mark the return of LIRR Summer Saturdays, a popular program that launched last year to as a LIRR customer benefit.

LIRR monthly ticketholders can use the Summer Saturdays program to enjoy discounts offered by nearly 100 merchants through the My LIRR Loyalty Program. Many of the participating merchants are located near LIRR stations systemwide. The list of discounts is available at this link: http://web.mta.info/lirr/mylirrloyalty/merchants.htm

The My LIRR Loyalty program was launched last fall for a similar goal as Summer Saturdays, to add value to LIRR monthly tickets.

“We want to bring Summer Saturdays back for the same reason we launched My LIRR Loyalty – to say thank you to our monthly ticketholders for choosing the LIRR,” said LIRR President Phil Eng. “With so many amazing summertime destinations across Long Island, we hope this program offers a great way for our customers to explore the entire Island with family and friends.”

As a reminder, this coming Saturday, June 1, service will be suspended between Mineola and Hicksville while crews replace a 66-year-old bridge in Carle Place in preparation for the LIRR Expansion Project. Customers traveling to stations on the Port Jefferson Branch and Ronkonkoma Branch will need to change trains at Babylon and Hicksville. Customers are encouraged to use alternate branches for travel, including the Babylon, Hempstead, Montauk and Oyster Bay Branches.
