David Rockefeller has made one of the most significant gifts in the history of the state park system. The gift will aid in the stewardship of the Preserve's scenic landscape and system of carriage roads built by John D. Rockefeller, Jr. Designed to complement the landscape, the carriage roads allow visitors to experience and enjoy the natural wonders of the area. These scenic paths wind through wetlands, woodlands, meadows and fields and past streams, rivers, and lakes while traversing wood and stone bridges.

The Rockefeller State Park Preserve encompasses more than 1,400 acres of land in Westchester County.  The land was donated by the Rockefeller family, beginning in 1983, to the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.
