Carpenters Recruit Apprentices |

Hauppauge, NY (September 20, 2021) - The North Atlantic States Carpenters Training Fund (a.k.a. the New England Carpenters Training Fund and the Northeast Carpenters Apprenticeship Fund) will conduct a recruitment from October 4, 2021 through October 3, 2022 for two Carpenter apprentices, the New York State Department of Labor announced today. Applications can only be obtained and submitted online at www.nasctf.org during the recruitment period. Applicants must attend an information session offered on the first Monday of each month. Prior to attending the information session, applicants must register online at www.nasctf.org. Applicants can visit https://www.nasctf.org/virtual-info-session-registrations to register for the next information (virtual) session. Applicants who do not have internet access may contact their local library or nearest New York State Department of Labor Career Center (dol.ny.gov/career-centers) to see if they are open and can accommodate. Prior to submitting an electronic application, applicants are required to attend a virtual information session, via Zoom, which is given on the first Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. If the first Monday falls on a holiday, the information session will occur on the second Monday of that month at 6:00 p.m. Applicants must register for the location that is closest to their current residence. Please note, spaces are limited, and will be filled on a first come first serve basis. At the conclusion of the information session, a code will be provided, which is required to complete an application. If assistance is required for completing an online application, please contact the NASCTF at (631) 952-9555, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. In order to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 during the application process, each applicant must wear an appropriate face covering and respect and maintain a proper social distance while standing in a line, both inside and outside the building, as well as while completing the actual application for apprenticeship. Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner. Under state law, sponsors of programs cannot discriminate against applicants because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, or marital status. Women and minorities are encouraged to submit applications for apprenticeship programs. Sponsors of programs are required to adopt affirmative action plans for the recruitment of women and minorities. |
