The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (State Parks) will hold a public hearing on a draft Master Plan/Draft Environmental Impact Statement for Taconic State Park located in Columbia and Dutchess Counties. The draft master plan outlines potential capital improvements, operational enhancements and natural and cultural resource stewardship within the park for the next ten to fifteen years. The draft plan is available at http://nysparks.com/inside-our-agency/master-plans.aspx. Plans are also available for public viewing at the park office as well as the Roeliff Jansen and Millerton libraries. Written comments about the draft plan will be accepted until September 15, 2017. Comments can be submitted by email to Taconic.Plan@parks.ny.gov or by mail to Sara Hart, OPRHP Planning Bureau, 625 Broadway, 2nd Fl., Albany, N.Y., 12238. The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation oversees more than 250 individual state parks, historic sites, recreational trails, and boat launches, which are visited by 69 million people annually.
