MTA Presents Photography Exhibit Showcasing Iconic New York City Buildings at Grand Central Terminal |

 MTA Arts and Design today announced that “Landmark City,” Marc Yankus’ new photography installation, has been put on view at Grand Central Terminal’s East Dining Concourse. The exhibit, to run for a year, presents a selection of New York City’s iconic landmark buildings through a unique lens that uses digital collage. Grand Central Terminal was designated a NYC landmark in 1967, ensuring that the Beaux Arts building would be preserved for future generations and this exhibition is a tribute to new York’s architectural heritage. The exhibit highlights the beauty of the city’s ornate architecture in a still environment by altering the spaces around the historical buildings, allowing viewers to experience the architectural gems in a new and slightly surreal way.
This series of images honors the buildings of the past and their landmark status, and in the words of the photographer “their power resides more in the realm of sensation than explicit narrative…where imagination and documentation meet.”
“We are excited to bring this unique and thought-provoking exhibit showcasing NYC landmarks to one of the most iconic buildings of them all, Grand Central Terminal, said MTA Arts and Design Director Sandra Bloodworth. “This exhibit allows us to continue to engage our riders with dynamic works that inspire, and hopefully induce a pause or smile along their journey.”

Marc Yankus is a fine art photographer whose work has been exhibited The Brooklyn Museum, The Library of Congress, and ClampArt. His work has been published as book covers for authors such Salman Rushdie and Philip Roth, as well as been used for theatrical posters for acclaimed Broadway shows including “Jane Eyre” and Doubt”.
MTA Arts & Design encourages the use of mass transit in the metropolitan New York area by providing visual and performing arts in the transit environment.
