MEDIA ADVISORY: Governor Hochul to Join MTA Leadership to Open First Section of LIRR Third Track
Governor Kathy Hochul will join Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) Chair and CEO Janno Lieber, LIRR Interim President and Metro-North Railroad President Catherine Rinaldi and MTA Construction & Development President Jamie Torres-Springer at the New Hyde Park LIRR station to announce the opening of the first section of the LIRR Main Line Expansion Project (also known as LIRR Third Track). A ceremonial first train ride will be taken prior to the announcement. Newsday will be pool for print and still photographs and WNBC-TV will be pool for broadcast video on ceremonial first ride. The MTA will distribute unedited reports from poolers following the event and WNBC will distribute pool video.
