DIAMOND JEWELRY AND WATCH FORFEITED IN NIAGARA COUNTY DRUG CASE TO BE SOLD AS STATE SURPLUS

Online Auction to Begin on Friday, September 22

New York State Office of General Services (OGS) Commissioner Jeanette Moy today announced OGS is selling a stainless steel Breitling wristwatch, a gold and diamond ring, and a set of gold and diamond cufflinks on the state’s online surplus property auction site.

The ring and jewelry were taken by the New State Attorney General’s Office in a civil forfeiture action against a defendant in a criminal drug case in Niagara County.

The two-week online auction of State surplus items will be held at the State of New York Auction Site on GovDeals beginning at 9 a.m. on Friday, September 22. Visitors to the OGS online auction marketplace are required to preregister here before they can start bidding on surplus items. Registration is free.

Items Being Auctioned

  • Stainless Steel Breitling Wristwatch, model A13370 Super Avenger, accented with aftermarket circular-cut diamonds channel and bead set in the bezel, dial, lugs, and band. There are a total of 530 diamonds set in the watch. 
  • Gold and Diamond Ring, a 14k white gold fashion ring designed in a square, step motif measuring approximately 29.6mm X 27.8mm, featuring 64 princess cut melee diamonds and 40 round full cut melee diamonds. 
  • Gold and Diamond Initial Cufflinks, a pair of 14k white gold cuff links, each designed in a circular shape measuring approximately 15.7mm in diameter and 2.7mm thick. Each cufflink has the letters “B” and “Y” applied on the front, with the “B” positioned at the top and the “Y” located on a slight diagonal near the bottom. The letters are accented by horizontal channels set with 30 full-cut diamonds in each cuff link. 

OGS has sold other luxury items seized in enforcement actions by New York State in the past, such as a Bentley, a Lamborghini, and an assortment of sports memorabilia, which included 188 pairs of collectible sneakers.
