Finishing Trades Recruit Apprentices |

Cheektowaga, NY (January 25, 2019) - The Finishing Trades Institute of Western and Central New York (Buffalo) will conduct a recruitment from March 4, 2019 through March 3, 2020 for ten painter, decorator, and paperhanger apprentices; three drywall taper (finisher) apprentices; and five glazier apprentices, the New York State Department of Labor announced today. Please note that the openings listed for apprentices represent the total number for three recruitment regions – the Finger Lakes, Southern Tier, and Western regions. Applications can be obtained on the Finishing Trades’ website, www.dc4.org. Applications can also be obtained in person from 585 Aero Drive, Cheektowaga, New York, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding legal holidays, during the recruitment period. Completed applications can be returned in person or mailed to Finishing Trades Institute of Western & Central New York, 585 Aero Drive, Cheektowaga, NY 14225. Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner. Under state law, sponsors of programs cannot discriminate against applicants because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, or marital status. Women and minorities are encouraged to submit applications for apprenticeship programs. Sponsors of programs are required to adopt affirmative action plans for the recruitment of women and minorities. |
