ADVISORY: MTA to Demonstrate Results of Ultra-Wideband Technology Pilot on Flushing and Canarsie Lines

MTA New York City Transit will demonstrate the results of a nine-month pilot of ultra-wideband technology on the Flushing and Canarsie Lines to modernize the agency’s signaling system and deliver safer, faster and more reliable service for customers. The demonstration will take place on the express track of the Flushing Line between 61st Street and 40th Street Stations.  

 

WHO:        Vice President, Network and Resignaling, Pete Tomlin, MTA Chief Innovation Officer Mark Dowd and executives from both Thales and Piper Networks

WHEN:      This afternoon, Thursday, Jan. 23, 2020 – 1:40 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.

WHERE:    61 Street-Woodside on the middle track (Northbound or Queensbound end of the center platform), Queens, NY.  Demonstration to take place onboard the train.
