Service Between Queensboro Plaza and Court St
Service Will End Early on Weeknights

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) today announced maintenance, cleaning, repair and replacement work will be performed along the Broadway Line ( trains) on weeknights beginning Tuesday, June 1, for the first two weeks of the month, with work concluding on Friday, June 11. A map detailing the service changes can be viewed here, and customers can always use the Authority’s many communication channels for information on any service change.
While crews from MTA New York City Transit perform track maintenance, repair and cleaning in the corridor, MTA Construction & Development will use the platform and track access created during this time to advance elevator replacement work at 34 St - Herald Sq.
FASTRACK work typically includes:
- Track – remove debris and repair or replace tie blocks and running rails.
- Third Rail Operations – clean and remove debris from under and around the third rail.
- Signals – perform general maintenance on signals and switches.
- Infrastructure – repair or replace handrails, signs, and tunnel lighting. Clean track drains and repair water damage/leaks.
- Electronic Maintenance – optimize performance of closed-circuit television monitors and cameras. Inspect and test public address system equipment.
- Station Environment – perform high-intensity station cleaning and painting as well as perform elevator and escalator repair work. Clean vents and drains.
Beginning Tuesday June 1, FASTRACK will be in place on weeknights from Tuesday to Friday June 1st to June 4th and Monday to Friday June 7 to June 11, with work ending on Friday, June 11. During that time there will be no service between Queensboro Plaza in Queens and Court St in Brooklyn.
The following service changes will take place to accommodate work:
Trains
From June 1-4 and from June 7-11 there will be no train service in Manhattan from 9:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
trains will run in two sections:
- Between Coney Island-Stillwell Av and Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr, and on the line to and from Court St, making all local stops between 59 St and Court St.
- Between Queensboro Plaza and Ditmars Blvd.
Trains
trains will run on the 
line between Dekalb Av and 47-50 Sts-Rockefeller Center, making express stops, and on the 
line between 47-50 Sts-Rockefeller Center and Lexington Av/63 St before resuming its normal route between Lexington Av/63 St and 96 St.
Trains
trains will be rerouted in Manhattan, running on the line between DeKalb Av and West 4 St and on the 
line between West 4 St and Queens Plaza before resuming its normal route in Queens, making local stops from Queens Plaza to Forest Hills-71 Av.
After 11:45 p.m., trains will run express between 36 St and Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr in both directions in Brooklyn and terminate at Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr. There will be no service to or from Whitehall St.
Other Service Changes
From Tuesday June 1 to Thursday June 3, and the following week from Monday, June 7 to Thursday, June 10, and service will end at 8:30 p.m. Customers can use or trains instead. During that time trains will run local in both directions between Dekalb Av and 36 St in Brooklyn.
Local elected officials and community boards have been notified about this work.
The MTA created a map to add a visual representation of the changes and make it easier to adjust their commute if needed. Additionally, print and digital signs will be posted in stations, along with announcements in stations and on trains. Customers can use the MTA’s groundbreaking Live Subway Map which shows the real-time position of trains, planned service changes at any given time, highlights accessible stations, and much more.
