Rockaway-bound Marine Parkway Bridge Closed Overnight: March 23 - 25

Q35 Bus is Exception

The Rockaway-bound (south) side of the Marine Parkway-Gil Hodges Memorial Bridge will be closed to traffic during overnight hours on Thursday, March 23 through Saturday morning, March 25. The necessary closures are needed in order to conduct a crane operation on both the South and North Towers. In addition, during the daytime hours one lane will be closed in both directions to accommodate the crane safety work zone.

All south-bound traffic will be detoured to the Cross Bay Veterans Memorial Bridge between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.  Note: The exception is Q35 bus, which will maintain normal route under facility escort. One Brooklyn-bound lane will remain open during this time. Signs will be in place advising motorists of the closure and detour coming off the bridge.

Motorists can sign up for MTA e-mail or text alerts at www.mta.info and check the Bridges and Tunnels homepage or Facebook page for the latest information on this planned work.
